How to Use the Date Calculator

The date calculator offers three modes. D-Day mode counts remaining days until a target date. Date difference mode shows the total days, weeks, and months between any two dates. Add/Subtract mode lets you find a date by adding or subtracting days from a base date. All calculations automatically account for leap years and varying month lengths.

Date Calculation Reference

  • D-Day countdown: Days remaining = Target date - Today (D-0 = target day itself)
  • Date difference: Total days = |End date - Start date| (always positive)
  • Weeks: Total days / 7 (rounded down)
  • Approximate months: Total days / 30.44 (average days per month)
  • Business days estimate: Calendar days x 0.71 (weekdays minus holidays)

Days in Each Month

  • 31 days: January, March, May, July, August, October, December
  • 30 days: April, June, September, November
  • 28 or 29 days: February (29 in leap years)
  • Total: 365 days/year (366 in leap years), average 30.44 days/month

Leap Year Rules

  • Divisible by 4: leap year (e.g., 2024, 2028)
  • Divisible by 100: NOT a leap year (e.g., 2100, 2200)
  • Divisible by 400: leap year (e.g., 2000, 2400)
  • Next leap years: 2028, 2032, 2036
